Teaching Principles
We are forever students. Mike and Glenys have been involved in Muay Thai for over twenty years and whilst establishing a degree of expertise in many areas are always open to learn more.
The starting principle is respect to the great art of Muay Thai.
All levels learn together with more experienced students being encouraged to help newcomers, which we feel creates a good atmosphere and encourages them to put something back into the sport. We always have a number of Instructors available so classes can be adapted to meet the needs of those attending a particular class.
Students are encouraged to train to the best of their ability but we do not put pressure on them to fight in the ring. It is up to them to make the decision and we will do all we can to help them if they decide to do so.
People train for a variety of reasons; fitness, self defence or to have a greater degree of confidence.
Probably the most satisfying thing as an instructor is when a parent thanks you for helping their child who is no longer being bullied because of what he or she has learnt in the classes. However we do not make false promises about what we can achieve. We can only help; it is very much down to the students own efforts.
